Welcome to the Sixth Grade Center! I am elated to share this virtual/hopeful (in person) experience with your child. This is my 35th year of teaching. I have taught every grade level from 1st through 7th grade in my seasoned career. I am certified in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. My husband and I live in Owasso. We have grown children and extended family across the Midwest. I love to walk, bake, read and watch Netflix and Prime in my spare time. This is the complete list of Literary Terms for the First Semester Test! We will "chunk" out the terms a few weeks at a time before the Semester Final.
Homework
If your child says that they do not have homework in my ELA class, they are not entirely wrong. I am a huge believer that every minute spent in my classroom is productive. I post a list of assignments for the student to accomplish within the hour. IF your child doesn't meet the requirements of the day or they are absent, then that becomes homework. OF course I would love for each student to read every evening for twenty minutes and study their Literary Terms, but I am a realist. Families are busy with sports and other obligations. Thank you for all of your support!!! Parents are my rock!!!
