If your child says that they do not have homework in my ELA class, they are not entirely wrong. I am a huge believer that every minute spent in my classroom is productive. I post a list of assignments for the student to accomplish within the hour. IF your child doesn't meet the requirements of the day or they are absent, then that becomes homework. OF course I would love for each student to read every evening for twenty minutes and study their Literary Terms, but I am a realist. Families are busy with sports and other obligations.
